Our youth are transforming community norms, strengthening family engagement, and shaping the future healthcare workforce—one campaign, one conversation, and one community at a time. With over 1,000,000 people reached to date through their health-promoting multimedia campaigns, our youth are not just reimagining public health—they’re redefining it.

Through interactive workshops, virtual learning, and hands-on experiences, ambassadors leverage emerging technologies and AI-driven learning to power their collective storytelling—designing, producing, and launching peer-driven health campaigns that drive real change in their communities.

The Future is Now.

Putting the WORK in WORKforce

We believe workforce development begins with acknowledging the brilliance, resilience, and creativity of young people. Our approach centers their lived experiences and opens doors to leadership and long-term career growth. Through a suite of interconnected programs, we’re building a new vision for workforce readiness—one that is grounded in equity, driven by youth voice, and shaped in partnership with communities.

From early exposure to public health careers to advanced leadership academies, our programs are designed to meet students where they are and guide them toward what’s next. Whether co-creating health campaigns, serving as peer educators, or facilitating workshops across North Carolina, youth gain real-world experience, professional skills, and a deeper understanding of their power to lead. Together, these efforts offer a launchpad for the next generation of changemakers—leaders prepared to serve, innovate, and shape the future of work.

NextGen Ambassadors for Health
(Formerly known as Not A Host)
Empowering youth to lead bilingual educational sessions builds their leadership skills while bridging language gaps in their communities. These sessions foster inclusivity, inspire others, and create a more connected and informed community.

Creative Healing Spaces
Building on our mental and emotional wellness expertise and partnerships in culturally rooted art and healing, we will help marginalized youth heal from the impacts of harmful systems on their well-being and that of their communities.

PHIRE Academy

NAH graduates use their experiences to keep the program relevant to young people’s needs, fostering community, continuity, and legacy. It gives them ownership and reinforces the value of their contributions, positioning them as role models who inspire current participants to see themselves as future leaders.

DARE TO LEAD
Business leaders are becoming more and more concerned with what they call the "skills gap" in today's science technology, engineering and math (STEM) graduates. This experiential learning experience will offer youth a wealth of knowledge and hands-on application while engaging with course content and collaborating with their peers.

Testimonials

At Activate Equity, our programs don’t just engage youth—they bring families together. Through intergenerational activities and shared learning experiences, parents, mentors, and loved ones play an active role in the training and growth of our youth ambassadors.  Hear from the families whose voices and experiences reflect the lasting impact of our work.

"It really kept her really engaged and really excited the whole time. We would go somewhere and she’s like, ‘Okay mom, let's hurry up. I need to get home so I can finish this!' She was really eager and excited throughout the whole program."

"I felt like we were kind of doing [the training] together because every topic made her come back and discuss it with me. So I definitely liked that."
